Nelia Edelmira. Bedroom Nightstand. November 15th , 2017.
Create a peaceful atmosphere. What would a peaceful bedroom look and feel like to you? Consider whether there's a certain color (like vivid turquoise) or object (like a vase of fresh flowers) that really brings to mind the mood you want to create. Only bring in objects with the intention of cultivating peaceful, restorative feelings. Take action: Take some time to sit quietly in your refreshed space and list the colors, objects and activities you'd like to invite more of into your room. Pick one item on your list and take a step toward making it a reality. For example, if you'd like to paint your bedroom a more soothing hue, take a trip to the paint store to pick up swatches. If you'd like to incorporate meditation into your nightly routine, create a quiet corner with cushions where you can practice.
A nightstand is an essential piece of bedroom furniture, at least for those of us who need a resting spot for a book, glasses or that midnight drink of water. But finding space for a full-sized nightstand in a small bedroom can be a challenge.
Lovely lavender. Light-to-medium purple shades are thought to ease our stress levels. If you could use a relaxing atmosphere in your bedroom, give a lavender or lilac hue a try. I suggest sticking to a shade that is fairly pure or saturated, rather than one with an abundance of gray in it. A heavily grayed-out purple or lavender can feel gloomy, especially on overcast days.
Dresser or chest. Rather than restricting your night-table furniture to the small or low profile, you might go bold with a relatively large piece of furniture like a dresser or chest of drawers. This can provide much-needed extra storage, particularly in a narrow bedroom. The key with a larger piece is to create balance. When the bed is placed in the middle of the wall, add another large piece of furniture to the other side; a second dresser or a desk typically will work. Be sure both pieces are similar in height and width to create a more symmetrical look. Adding lamps of the same height on either side of the bed can add to the harmonious effect when your night tables don't match. Tip: If you opt for two different lamps and they are not exactly the same height, place one or two books beneath the shorter lamp to give it the extra height.
