Aghna Mairenn. Bedroom Nightstand. November 25th , 2017.
Tropical hue. Deep, watery blue hues are among my favorites for a bedroom. The slight green undertones give a bit of warmth that a true blue lacks. It's also a nice choice if you happen to associate the color with a vacation spent someplace warm, lush and tropical. For the ceiling, I went with a crisp and light greenish-gray, and the trim color is a slightly cool off-white.
Embrace your whimsical side and opt for a chair as your night table. This look works particularly well when just one side of a bed has room for a nightstand — though it also looks adorable when you double up with chairs on both sides of the bed. Tip: For added interest, select a chair that has a different texture from the other textiles in the room. For instance, you might choose velvet against silk. It's also fun to choose a color that is different from but coordinates with the other colors in the room, as in this bedroom. Add a hard tray or book on top of the seat of your chair to create a sturdy surface for your bedside knickknacks.
Increase light and ventilation. Locating your bedroom at the corner of your home can give you windows on two or more adjacent walls. This gives you the added benefit of cross ventilation and a softer natural light.
Because the bedroom is one of the simplest rooms in the house, it's often overlooked. One of the first steps to a great bedroom design is having an efficient and well-designed floor plan that gives you everything you want — no matter how much space you start with.
